About The Role
About this opportunity
Construction Environment Manager oversees construction and commissioning environmental risks, permit requirements, and identifying opportunities for improvements to the general contractor´s performance and outcomes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Promoting good environmental management and permit compliance as key aspects of all site works.
- Providing comments on the general contractor´s method statements, the construction environmental management plan, process and procedure to ensure that all environmental risks and mitigated are considered appropriately.
- Timely reviewing of all permits on site to ensure they are appropriate for construction and operations as per the design.
- Working closely with the EHS staff to address any collaborative risks.
- Attending site and Client meetings as required.
- Undertaking regular site walkovers.
- Providing a strong Client presence on site, working with and supporting the general contractor´s EHS staff.
- Providing the data centre operations manager with environmental support for interpreting environmental and social aspects of the project and permits.
- Keeping a tracker spreadsheet to log environmental events or incidences.
- Provide regular reports to the Client.
- Providing handover support to client´s operations team to ensure sufficient understanding of permit and legislative requirements, include providing legislative matrices, training and compliance advice.
- Remaining in the remit of your role and when additional responsibilities need to be carried out, conduct this in a fully informed manner with the approval of your line manager.

About You
Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
- Experience in environmental compliance management within Construction sector – 5+ years.
- Strong background in site supervision of schedule-focused construction sites.
- Excellent knowledge of the European environmental regulation impacting construction industry. Knowledge of national (Austrian) regulation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and practice experience working in field planning/coordination, progress reporting, risk identification and escalation and schedule/budget oversight.
- Ability to handle and interpret large amounts of information and confidential information.
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to integrate with teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of German is preferred.
Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Sciences or similar, or Engineering degree (Building, Civil) plus additional qualification in environmental management.
