Monday to Thursday 09:00 – 15:00 (This is negotiable. Holiday and sickness cover may also be required from time to time)

The Role:

The main responsibility of an Accounts Assistant is to support the Group Finance Manager with business accounting activities. This includes raising, sending, and paying invoices, reconciling company accounts, and chasing late payments.

They also assist with basic administration tasks and should be on hand to answer any queries raised by staff or external clients or providers. They will be expected to help document and maintain the business’ finance procedures, updating and implementing them wherever necessary.

Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Assisting the Group Finance Manager in the running of the Finance Department
Be competent and precise when conducting duties
Carrying out Credit Checks for new businesses and applying for credit limits with insurers
Sending Terms of Business to new and existing customers via our electronic software
Dealing with complaints and issues in a timely manner, taking correct advice when required.
Leading by example and always keeping moral high.
Conducting Margin reports on a weekly basis and being precise with data entry
Raising, sending, and paying invoices
Monitoring government advice and following correct procedures best for business.
Reconciling company accounts and Banks reconciliation
Credit control and chasing late payments.
Maintaining and increasing standards of customer service, compliance, and the company image.
Handling highly confidential information in an honest and trustworthy way.
Providing professional support to everyone in the business.
Performs all other related duties as assigned by Group Finance Manager.

Technical Knowledge / Qualifications:

Own transport due to location
Proficient in Excel
Previous experience of working in a busy financial office
Experience in Xero cloud accounting software (desirable)
AAT qualification (desirable)
