Job description
We currently have a vacancy for a Full Stack Developer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Ispra, Italy. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.Your tasks:
- Maintenance of software, covering the full-stack (HTML, JavaScript, Java/Tomcat, PostgreSQL);
- Lead the maintenance of data harmonization, integration and dissemination processes (ETL, ownCloud, R and Python scripting);
- Support the data providers and users, including curation of standard on-boarding paths and their documentation;
- Lead harmonization and integration of new datasets, or update of existing ones;
- Coordinate with system manager, the business manager, the data providers and users.
Requirements
- University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in IT;
- At least 10 years of experience in software development and data management;
- At least 5 years of specific expertise in web applications, preferably on Apache/Tomcat, HTML, and JavaScript;
- At least 5 years of specific expertise in massive data management, preferably on PostgreSQL/PostGIS;
- At least 5 years of experience in technical team coordination;
- At least 3 years of experience in Agile IT projects, preferably on PM2 /SCRUM;
- Strong knowledge of Java/Tomcat based web application software development and maintenance;
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS data management;
- Good knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, R, and Python software maintenance;
- Knowledge of ownCloud or Nextcloud platform administration, APIs and PHP;
- Knowledge of ETL data harmonization tools, like Pentaho Data Integration – Community Edition;
- Understanding and implementation of software security and data protection measures;
- Certifications in PM2 or SCRUM would be considered an asset;
- Excellent command of the English language.
