About the Role

As industries shift towards cleaner energy and sustainable practices, ICIS supports businesses to navigate the challenges of energy transition, plastic circularity, and sustainability. We are now looking for a forward-thinking consultant to join our growing team and help accelerate the success of our strategy and transactions consulting team.

In this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the refining and chemical industries and a passion for driving sustainable change. You will collaborate with industry leaders and financial institutions to influence the future of the energy and chemical industries, promote sustainable innovation, and assist clients in adapting to changing market trends and regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Execution and delivery of consulting projects to meet and exceed profitability targets

  • Research of energy and chemical value chains (primary and secondary research)

  • Development of analysis for market, pricing, competitiveness and economic assessments for project feasibility and transaction support

  • Liaison with other functions in ICIS as part of project delivery

  • Preparation of clear and well-written reports and presentations and interactions with clients as needed

  • Development and maintenance of consulting and analytical models, such as long-term pricing, cost competitiveness, and financial and valuation models

  • Maintain a fundamental working knowledge of the ICIS data, analytics and tools

  • Support business development and proposals, working with senior consultants and the leadership team

  • Contribute to the ICIS brand through the delivery of high-value work and the promotion of ICIS insights externally

  • Ability to travel on an ad-hoc basis

    Requirements

  • Knowledge of the oil refining/petrochemical sector and market fundamentals, with a degree in Chemical Engineering or a relevant degree

  • Able to rationalise, solve and communicate answers to complex problems

  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form

  • Can work independently as well as in teams, is organised and with project management skills

  • Ability to collaborate, influence and manage to work with other business functions and geographies within a high-performance culture

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on MS Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Excel and modelling would be advantageous.

  • A driven, passionate and motivated contributor centred on providing value to the client
