The energy transition needs you as an Epic OwnerAs an Epic Owner at Alliander, you will oversee department-wide epics from ideation to delivery, ensuring the quality of the final result. You will connect strategy with execution by coordinating the planning, sizing, slicing, and prioritizing of cross-team epics, all while ensuring that business requirements are met through milestone establishment for Scrum teams.Additionally, you will proactively identify and resolve impediments to streamline processes and drive business change related to other departments, like our BBN department. Forming a vision and workroute within SO in relation to the Alliander goals is crucial.You have PO experience in the technical field of system development, can adapt to different target groups and know how to create buy-in, work from abstracts concepts and translate them into workable and practical solutions. Furthermore you have a resultdriven approach, in which you focus on performance and quality with your fellow epic owners.Your role involves:

  • Refining with Product Owners and architects to turn department goals into concrete workitems that can be implemented by the scrum teams.
  • Collaborating closely with other stakeholders in- and outside the department.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end delivery of epics at a high level.
  • Ensuring the quality and timely completion of epic outcomes.
  • Coordinating the strategy and execution of epics across teams.
  • Prioritizing, sizing, and slicing epics based on business needs.
  • Planning and driving the implementation of epics, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Your efforts will keep the network stable, distribute electricity equitably, and facilitate the integration of more companies and customers onto the network.System Operations is based in Arnhem, but our hybrid working model offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. Whether it’s from our offices in Apeldoorn, Amsterdam, Haarlem, or your home, location is no barrier. To ensure a pleasant cooperation, the colleagues of System Operations work at the office on average twice a week, usually in Arnhem.With team members from around the globe, English is our lingua franca.   • A minimum of a Master’s (WO) degree in a technical discipline such as electrical, mechanical, control engineering, energy technology, or a related field.
  • Expertise in Epic Management: 5-8 years experience in overseeing large-scale projects, especially within an Agile framework.
  • Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of IT systems and energy technologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong capability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to connect high-level strategy with detailed execution.
  • Communication Skills: Fluency in English and the ability to work in a multinational team.
  • A solid grasp of complex IT systems with deep knowledge and passion for the electricity network.
  • A creative and entrepreneurial approach, coupled with exceptional analytical abilities.

Attractive salary and benefits packageBased on a 40-hour working week, you will receive:

  • a gross monthly salary of € 4.955,32 to € 8.414,39 (scale 11).
  • annually an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full time) or 12.8% (part time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 5.2% ADV (shorter working hours) and 8% holiday allowance. If you do not work full time, you are not entitled to ADV. You can have this budget paid out as extra salary or use it to purchase extra days off, for example. You choose the option that is right for you.
  • 25 days’ holiday (statutory + non-statutory). You can use your IKB to top this up to (full time) (part time).
  • an end-of-year bonus of 6% of your annual salary in December.
  • Workations are part of our collective labour agreement.
  • Eligible employees can benefit from the 30% tax ruling.
