Job title:
Postdoctorate (M/F) in biogeochemistry et evolutionary ecotoxicology
Company:
Job description
Offer DescriptionThe postdoctoral researcher will have to analyze the levels of metallic contamination of biological and environmental matrices from anthropized rivers, and to test the relationships between metal expsoure and health status of wild fish using physiological and behavioural biomarkers. He/she will have to conduct genomic analyses to identify potential selection signatures associated with adaptive evolutionary responses to chemical stressors in natural environments.-Biogeochemical analyses on biotic and abiotic matrices. A significant experience in ecotoxicologiy and biogeochemistry is mandatory.
– An extensive experience in XRF and ICPMS analyses is required
– Production and analyes of genomic and physiological data on wild heterogeeous populations: relevant experience in evolutionary ecology is required
– Supervision of field work in natural rivers and experiments in the wild. Experience on aquatic systems with a specialization on freshwater fish is required to conduct electric fishing and reciprocal transplantation experiments in the wild.Electric fishing french habilitation as well as animal experimentation habilitation (french level 1) are mandatory
– Physiological, genetic and phenotypic biomarkers analyses: blood sampling mastering on fish is required
– Management and statistical analyses of complex data: experience in advanced uni and multivariate analyses is required
-Redaction of publication and national and international conferences: a good record of publications is required
– Transfer of knowledge to a large public audience: communication skills are requiredThe postdoctorate will work at CNRS CRBE (UMR 53000 in Toulouse, in collaboration with the SETE laboratiry, Moulis, Ariège where the caging esxperiments will take place. The applicant will have to be able to move between the two sites. The applicant will be part of the AQUAECO team aiming at understand the effects of global change on freshwater biodiversity, under the supervision of Lisa Jacquin, Géraldine Loot, and Simon Blanchet (SETE Moulis)
The CRBE is studying the mechanisms driving the evolution and ecology of biodiversity and the impacts of human activities on biodiverstity patterns worldwide. The postdoc is part of the MULTIPAt ANR program aiming at understanding the impacts of metallic pollution on fish health and evolutionary trajectories of wild fish.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Biological sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Environmental science Education Level PhD or equivalentLanguages FRENCH Level BasicResearch Field Biological sciences Years of Research Experience NoneResearch Field Environmental science Years of Research Experience NoneAdditional InformationEligibility criteria– Experience in ecolutionary ecology (experimnetal and field work on fish and experience in biogeochemistrya dn ecotoxicology (XRF and ICPMS analyses)
