Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a dynamic and experienced Global Social Media Manager to join us in our Corporate Communication team, based in our HQ office in Anderlecht, Brussels in Belgium.About the roleAs a Global Social Media Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy, content creation, process management, and the overall output across our four primary social media channels: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). This role requires a strategic thinker with a creative mindset, strong execution skills and an ability to drive engagement and brand awareness in a highly regulated industry.What you’ll do * Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global social media strategy aligned with UCB’s overall business and communication objectives, under the leadership of the Head of External Communications.
- Set clear, actionable goals for each social media channel to enhance UCB’s online presence and engagement.
- Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to ensure UCB’s strategy remains innovative and effective.
- Content Creation and Management:
- Lead the creation, curation, and management of high-quality, engaging, and relevant content tailored for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., business, communications global and local) to ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
- Oversee a content calendar to ensure consistent posting and optimal timing for audience engagement.
- Channel Management:
- Manage and maintain UCB’s official social media profiles and presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Monitor, listen, and respond to audience interactions in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all social media channels are up-to-date, visually appealing, and consistent with UCB’s brand voice and identity.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting:
Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics for each social media channel.
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategies, optimize content, and improve overall performance.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on social media performance, trends, and ROI.
- Team Collaboration:
- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging creativity and innovation within the wider global communication team.
- Liaise with external agencies, business and communication partners, and influencers as needed to enhance UCB’s social media presence.
- Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure all social media activities comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate guidelines.
- Implement and promote best practices for social media management and digital marketing.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in social media management, preferably within a global or corporate environment.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies.
- Strong understanding of each platform’s best practices, algorithms, and analytics tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Experience in team leadership and strong project management.
- Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Brandwatch).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
