- Assessing the claims against the pet insurance policy terms, checking policy details, medical history, treatments, procedures, and medications as required by the process.
- Confidence in processing financial settlements and managing medical documentation.
- Using relevant experience to decide whether veterinary practices have carried out the correct procedures or given out the correct medication.
- Liaising with Veterinary Practices and affinity partners to ensure that all information is gathered in order to settle claims in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Communicating effectively with claimants to inform them of the status of their claim and any additional information required.
- Identifying and reporting any suspicious or fraudulent claims to the appropriate department or authorities.
- Collaborating with other departments such as finance or customer service to resolve complex claims issues.
- Striving to achieve individual targets in line with team objectives, quality processes, and productivity targets.
- Maintaining a high standard, quality, and efficiency of work and ensuring all information is entered accurately on records.
- Participating in training sessions to stay updated on policy changes, new procedures, and best practices within the industry.
- Providing feedback on process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Facilitating knowledge transfer by sharing expertise and best practices, enhancing the competency and confidence of team members.
Required skills:
- Advanced degree in Veterinary Medicine/ Vet nurse.
- Proficiency in English with a minimum C1 level in both written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of specialized medical language pertinent to veterinary sciences.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, professional emails.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, you’ll be processing payments so great care is essential.
- Prior experience in a veterinary practice or similar role would be an asset.
- Open minded and a ‘can do’ attitude with good organisational skills and ability to deliver multiple, diverse tasks at the same time.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
