This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your legal expertise, navigate complex compliance landscapes, collaborate with international stakeholders, and contribute to a company committed to improving lives through innovative healthcare solutions.Who are we looking for?As our new Regional Legal & Compliance Counsel, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting, advising, and guiding Olympus in Region North on a diverse array of legal and compliance topics, including healthcare compliance, data privacy, local labour law, and contract law in the Healthcare Sector. Reporting to the Regional Corporate Governance Officer (RCGO), you’ll be an integral part of the Region North Governance, Risk & Compliance function, with region-wide responsibilities. Your exceptional stakeholder management skills and international mindset will be vital in building partnerships and ensuring compliance.   • Provide continued support to the organizations in Region North in various legal and compliance matters
  • Support HR in local labour law topics and assessments
  • Manage all aspects of compliance with the GDPR in close collaboration with the Olympus EMEA Privacy/Data Protection team
  • Advise and support in Environmental, Social and Governance topics within Region North, in close collaboration with Olympus EMEA Compliance team
  • Conduct internal training and onboarding activities for new employees about legal and compliance matters
  • The primary work location for this position is in Hoofddorp, Netherlands with the possibility to work from home as well. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries in Region North, including Denmark, Sweden, and Norway etc. with occasional travel to these regions as required.

Requirements

  • Law degree, LLM is essential
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a legal or compliance role within one or more Region North markets is desirable
  • Prior experience in the life sciences sector or another regulated industry is preferred
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders in an international setting
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a collaborative approach
  • International mindset with excellent organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Strong business acumen and influencing capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal command of Dutch and English. And other Nordic languages are considered a plus
