That is why our slogan is ‘Let’s Grow Together’!You will get the opportunity to work on an internal project and an intern or group of interns who are looking for a (thesis) project:How can BDO enhance its DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) barometer to ensure accurate measurement and reporting of key diversity metrics, aligning with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and contributing to the company’s overall ESG objectives? What will you be doing?:The goal of this internship project is to refine and expand BDO’s DE&I barometer, ensuring it aligns with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and accurately captures key diversity metrics such as gender diversity and wage gap.This will involve developing a strategy to capture, measure, and calculate these metrics effectively, as well as filling in the barometer for 2024. This is a particularly interesting and impactful task, as developing a robust DE&I barometer is a relatively new endeavor that will be highly relevant for many organizations in the future. A well-developed barometer not only measures progress and identifies areas for improvement but also drives DE&I objectives, helping to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace.The expected outcome is an enhanced DE&I barometer aligned with te European sustainability reporting standards (ESRS) , accurately reflecting BDO’s diversity and inclusion metrics. This includes a strategy for data capture, measurement and validation, as well as a completed barometer for 2024. The project will also result in a comprehensive plan for measuring data that is currently difficult to capture.To get to this result, desk research will be needed on the ESRS and market research on best practices. Additional input and feedback will be provided by both the Inclusive diversity team and the ESG team, through interviews. This project will be in close collaboration with the Inclusive diversity coordination, as it is one of the strategic objectives of DE&I for this year.Furthermore, the intern will contribute to the DE&I chapter of BDO’s ESG report.Other internship tasks:– Collaborate with the DE&I coordinator to understand current DE&I initiatives and the objectives of the barometer.
– Analyze and align the DE&I barometer with ESRS disclosure requirements and identify key/material KPIs, based on the materiality assessment of BDO
– Develop a strategy for data capture, measurement, and calculation to ensure the barometer is accurate and comprehensive, including how to best visualize this data
– Fill in the DE&I barometer for 2024 with available data and create a plan for capturing additional data in the future.
– Support the DE&I lead in writing the DE&I chapter for BDO’s ESG report, ensuring it aligns with CSRD requirements.
– Participate in workshops or meetings to discuss findings and gather feedback
– working in close collaboration with our Inclusive Diversity coordinator, with ongoing support from different BDO professionals. What do you bring to the table?:

  • You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
  • You will graduate with a Master’s degree in 2025 and have strong interested in ESG/DE&I.
  • You have no problem with coming to our Zaventem office once a week (Wednesday) for the ESG team meetings.
