Senior Learning Manager (Curriculum Development)

Location: Cambridge, UK or remote with regular travel to Cambridge 

Salary: £48,500 – £53,000 p.a. full-time equivalent, dependent on experience

Basis: Permanent contract; full-time, part-time or flexible

Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the UK

The role

One of the Foundation’s goals is to support teachers globally to deliver a high-quality computing education to their learners, and we have developed The Computing Curriculum to achieve this. This curriculum is designed to empower teachers to confidently deliver engaging lessons that will inspire and educate young people about Computing and the role that it could play in their lives.

We are looking for an experienced computing educator – with a track record of creating curricula, resources and learning experiences – to lead our efforts to design and create curricula and resources across our core markets: the UK, India, Kenya, South Africa and the USA. As a Senior Learning Manager, you will lead a team of talented educators and collaborate with stakeholders to localise curricula and content that has cultural relevance, and meets the needs of educators and learners in each region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of educators to develop world-class learning resources to help teachers and students develop knowledge and skills in Computing
  • Ensure that learning experiences, content, resources, and training reflect evidence-based pedagogy and the Foundation’s agreed approaches to teaching and learning. 
  • Contribute to the development of the Foundation’s teaching and learning strategy and approaches. Actively engage with research and best practice, and identify areas for improvement and innovation. 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and in partner organisations. 
  • Ensure that capacity and resources are planned and managed effectively to deliver the agreed priorities.
  • Develop and implement systems for quality assurance, including in relation to the Foundation’s policies for inclusion and accessibility.
  • Take responsibility for proactively gathering user feedback and data, and use that to drive improvement. Ensure that user feedback and data are reported internally and externally as required. 
  • Lead and support a team of Learning Managers to work flexibly across the Foundation’s educational programmes and products. 
  • Maintain excellent relations with external stakeholders and partners.
  • Represent the Raspberry Pi Foundation to external audiences and stakeholders as required. 
  • Contribute to the Foundation’s thought leadership through writing articles and blogs, public speaking, and contributing to research and evaluation.

Experience and personal attributes

  • A thorough understanding of computing, with a degree or equivalent qualification in computer science or a related subject.
  • Experience in developing and delivering resources for teachers and students in a global context. 
  • A teaching qualification or significant experience of teaching computing or a related subject.
  • Experience of developing and delivering high-quality learning experiences in a variety of different settings and contexts. 
  • Comfortable with a broad range of technologies, including hardware and software platforms, and the ability and willingness to learn new technologies as required. 
  • An understanding of computing pedagogy within formal education and informal learning.
  • A commitment to the Foundation’s mission and values, including on diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • Experience of managing a team, with a collaborative and supportive approach to leadership, with the ability to plan and manage resource allocation effectively across multiple projects and priorities. 
  • Experience of working with stakeholders. 
  • Experience of the collection, management, and analysis of feedback and data, and the ability to use that to drive improvement.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and external partners. 
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and potentially internationally.
