  • As part of this position, you’ll be reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), providing you with a direct line of influence on our strategic decisions.
  • Your expertise will be instrumental as a key authority in our fiber sensing technology, ensuring that our technology remains at the forefront of advancements.
  • Taking the lead in R&D activities for the photonics team, you’ll be guiding and directing our efforts, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach.
  • Actively contributing to the creation and definition of technical solutions, your role will be crucial in advancing our projects.
  • Beyond technical aspects, you’ll also be responsible for inspiring and structuring the work of the photonics team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the photonics team.
  • Play a pivotal role in aligning the team’s objectives with the overall organizational goals, ensuring that the photonics team’s contributions are integral to the company’s success.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead and develop a team – both in technical and business-minded skills to help establish a lean, strong R&D Professionals.
  • Lead and coordinate the strategic development initiatives in the field of photonics.
  • Actively drive and shape our photonics developments by providing essential technical expertise.
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects and activities, both internal and external, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization.
  • Provide key expertise in customer projects, ensuring alignment with technical developments

Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering, electronics, physics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a research and development (R&D) environment.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing small teams (5-10 people) within an R&D setting.
  • You have the ambition or potential to lead a team, showcasing your leadership qualities and desire to make a significant impact within the organization.
  • Proficiency in English is a must for effective communication within the team and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the product development lifecycle, from ideation to implementation.
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrating the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building capabilities to inspire and guide the R&D team.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in the context of R&D challenges.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
