The roleThis is a highly exciting opportunity to develop and deliver an effective communication and engagement strategy for a new national initiative. Population Research UK (PRUK) aims to maximise the use and benefits of UK longitudinal population studies (LPS) across social, economic and biomedical research to improve health and social outcomes. You will be a key member of the PRUK Hub team tasked with engaging the LPS community and promoting the activities of PRUK to help achieve this aim.What will you be doing?The postholder will play a pivotal role in:

  • Write and maintain the communication and engagement strategy, planning activities to support PRUK deliverables and raise its profile among key audiences (i.e. researchers, policymakers, funders and participants).
  • Develop, coordinate, and measure the PRUK communications activity across multiple channels – media, events, social media, web, film, email newsletters and print materials.
  • Develop stakeholder events and engagement activities that maintain the PRUK profile and evaluate and report on these events.
  • Design and develop engaging, targeted campaigns, content, press releases and messages suitable for use across a range of channels and from a range of sources and stakeholders.
  • Actively seek out, develop and maintain relationships with target internal and external stakeholders including funders and groups related to the PRUK activity.
  • Develop and prepare promotional materials for PRUK, working with designers and printers, coordinating, and overseeing similar work across the team.
