Offer DescriptionJoin a consortium of researchers working on characterization of Staphylococcus aureus interactions with the human host, focused on interactions of the pathogen with the hemostatic system such as during development of bloodstream infections. These interactions may result in complications, incl. formation of fibrin-embedded biofilms. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be based at the University of Warsaw. You will contribute to at least two research projects funded under the scheme OPUS by the National Centre of Science (brief project descriptions in attached). The project involves collaboration with a group led by dr Jakub M Kwieciński from the Jagiellonian University.You will participate in experimental design, perform experimental work, analyse results and prepare reports and manuscripts. You will be involved in project coordination at all stages, and will be mainly involved in generation of genetic constructs, mutants, purification of proteins and studies involving protein-protein interactions or experiments involving interaction of biofilms with host cells. You will attend regular team meetings to share and discuss team members’ results. You will provide guidance and technical support to the PhD students. You will be encouraged to attend conferences, symposia and networking events in the field.   • PhD in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related areas
  • Strong background in genetic manipulation of bacteria
  • Demonstrated experience with recombinant proteins
  • Proven track record of scientific publications
