Your Role

We are currently recruiting for an ABA Forklift Instructor. Are you a Forklift instructor or Forklift truck operative looking for a new challenge? You will be joining an award-winning organisation with a focus on excellence, colleague engagement and development. As a valued member you will be working within contract logistics for a prime defence contractor in the southwest

Your Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Forklift training to the ABA & KN standard and to meet Operational requirements.

  • Delivery of Vehicle assessment training to KN standard to meet Operational requirements.

  • Provide Learning and Development support to the wider business.

  • Support all operational trainers.

  • Promote best practice in all training areas.

  • Develop and publish a training calendar which meets business needs and priorities.

  • Train, coach and develop key members of staff with the necessary skills and knowledge required to deliver training.

  • Complete all pre and post course administration within agreed timelines.

  • Lead on the Annual Forklift driver of the year competition and support all Safety week activities.

  • To train and maintain lifting plans for safe operation of overhead crane.

  • Implement evaluation strategies alongside learning interventions to assist with continuous improvement of programmes and evidence Return on Expectation.

  • Actively promote a positive Learning and Development culture and proactively support employee engagement initiatives.

  • Review and identify relevant operational training needs in consultation with departmental heads, including assessment methods and measurement systems

Your Skills and Experiences

  • ABA Forklift Training qualification or equivalent or be willing to attend an accredited course to achieve this qualification.

  • Vehicle Assessment training qualification or be willing to attend a course to gain this qualification.

  • Must be a Forklift truck operative, with a minimum of 6 months experience.

  • Must have completed the basic operating skills test on a counterbalance or reach truck in the previous 12 months.

  • Have confidence to deliver training to your peers.

  • Accredited Overhead Crane trainer or willingness to achieve the qualification required.

  • Ability to maintain project records and develop improvements.

  • Efficient computer skills including Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective dialogue with customers both internal and external.

  • Accuracy & attention to detail

  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to task and hours
