Job Title: Senior VAT Compliance
Function: Finance (CFO)
Location: Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon
Job Level: PT1
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the role will be to support the VAT Manager with ad hoc advisory and compliance deliverables.
You’ll acquire experience in process governance and controls, preparing and reviewing both in-house and outsourced VAT returns.
Furthermore, you’ll handle statutory/internal audits and reporting requirements to both internal and external stakeholders interacting with cross-functional teams and dealing with multi-locational customers across Europe.
You’ll be joining a global team of 6 people between VAT and transfer pricing team.
What you will do
Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:
-Prepare, submit and support for the submission of VAT returns and compliance as well as Manual Journal postings (Accruals / Provisions/Prepayment /Reclasses etc.)
-Support intercompany services in regards analysis, initiatives, modelling, implementation and compliance with existing laws and regulations.
-Evaluate transfer pricing adjustments and advise on a wide range of matters on Transfer Pricing.
-Drive and support Tax and VAT projects and deliver other project related activities.
-Carry-out monthly, quarterly and annual analysis of variance and key financial tax numbers.
-Handle statutory and internal audits on VAT and tax and support local country audits.
-Identify and implement process improvement opportunities including report timely on potential issues.
-Gather requirements for tax system enhancement and document tax processes and controls.
-Assist Indirect Tax Manager with Tax queries from the Business
-Support and coordinate compliance deliverables provided by Colt’s outsourced VAT provider.
-Handle statutory/ internal audit and support VAT audits
-Drive process Governance within the VAT team
-Identify and timely escalate potential issues to the Reporting Manager
