Vice President, Global Security Operations

About the department
The purpose of Global Security Operations (GSO) is to protect value creation in Novo Nordisk by responding to information security incidents and events related to the protection of corporate IT/OT assets, intellectual property, regulated data, and the Novo Nordisk reputation. GSO maintains the operational IT security infrastructure in Novo Nordisk, and continuously monitors the security posture of Novo Nordisk in a 24/7 capacity ensuring effective prevention, detection, containment, and eradication of all IT security incidents. The scope of responsibilities for GSO is to support Novo Nordisk’s business worldwide including business operations, manufacturing, and research and development.
GSO is part of Global Information Security (GIS) which sits within Novo Nordisk’s Digital, Data and IT (DD&IT) area. GIS is responsible for providing security advisory, risk management, and governance support across various business areas. The unit consists of a large global community of colleagues working in operations, manufacturing, advisory, projects, and strategy. Based primarily in Denmark, US, and India, the organisation includes experts in network security, white hat hacking, cloud security, cryptography, security operations, acquisitions & integrations, manufacturing security, and security risk management and governance.
The position
Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Vice President of Global Security Operations (GSO) will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for security operations at Novo Nordisk together with a strong global leadership team reporting to the position.
With the support of the GSO organisation, the new VP will be responsible for:
-Driving appropriate operational cyber security capabilities for the protection of Novo Nordisk assets globally
-Oversight for and continuous improvement of the Novo Nordisk security operations center including 24/7 event monitoring, incident response, forensics investigations, IT-related data breaches, and major IT security incidents
-Designing, implementing, and managing the global cyber security infrastructure, systems, and applications across all business units of Novo Nordisk
GSO is presently experiencing a significant transformation due to digital advances, the unprecedented growth of Novo Nordisk’s business globally, and the increasing complexity in the threat landscape. The new leader will spearhead this transformation in close collaboration with other areas within Global Information Security (GIS) and key stakeholders throughout the broader Novo Nordisk organisation.
In addition, the new VP will be an active member of the GIS leadership team, contributing to the overall information security strategy and delivery at Novo Nordisk.
The position is located in the greater Copenhagen area, Denmark.
Qualifications
As our new VP of Global Security Operations, you will bring significant experience within information security operations, ideally from within a regulated industry. Furthermore, you will possess:
Several years’ experience leading leaders and setting direction for an enterprise scale security operations center, ideally from a regulated, corporate environment of comparable scale and complexity to Novo Nordisk.
Furthermore, you will possess:
-Several years’ experience leading leaders and setting direction for an enterprise scale security operations center, ideally from a regulated, corporate environment of comparable scale and complexity to Novo Nordisk
-A proven track record for transforming a global Security Operations centerre or function
-Extensive knowledge and understanding of security technologies, incident response processes and IT processes in large scale IT environments
-Experience leading operational IT security processes in complex multi-national environments covering on-premise, cloud and manufacturing
-A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field
-A CISSP or CISM certification
