This full-time, permanent post is available immediately.The roleThe post will extend the research profile of Communications at Exeter, particularly in areas related to media regulation and policy.You will teach on existing Communications modules and lead the development of new modules in their areas of expertise at both BA and MA levels. You will also attract and supervise PhD students.You will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:The Online Safety Act 2023Digital media policy and regulationOnline safety and harmsAI regulationBig Tech regulationAbout youThe successful applicant will have an independent research programme that will strengthen and complement the existing team at the University.You will be able to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics: * Hold a PhD in Media and Communications, or a related discipline, and be externally recognised as an authority in your area of expertise, in digital media governance and/or policy
- A strong record in attracting funding for research or demonstrate potential to attract future funding
- Enthusiasm for delivering and developing high quality undergraduate and postgraduate modules, as well as substantial experience in curriculum development and PhD supervision
- The potential to make strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners, and potential to participate and lead projects which have impact
- Proven academic leadership skills and the willingness to take on leadership roles within the discipline and/or wider department
