The team is always looking for passionate, dedicated individuals who are self-motivated in their work and careers.The identified candidate will be leading the Legal and Compliance function, being the business partner for Diagnostics in Denmark. The identified candidate will be providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on a wide range of strategic and operational matters through the development of strategies and frameworks that ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Roche’s principles, and standards. The successful candidate provide sound advice and proactively work to shape opportunities and navigate risks for Roche’s business, customers & patients. On top of it new Head of Legal and Compliance will become a permanent member of the Denmark Diagnostics Enablement Team.Key accountabilitiesDevelop and implement the company’s legal and compliance strategy in alignment with Roche’s business priorities and goalsMaintaining Roche’s license to operate by ensuring that the company complies with legal and regulatory requirements including but not limited to antitrust, data privacy, public procurement, anti-bribery regulation, employment, and product liabilityEnsure the effectiveness of the Legal and Compliance function in the oversight and management of all legal matters, including contracts, litigation, engagement, and communication with external legal, regulatory, or compliance bodiesPartner with the business in tender processes by identifying and analyzing opportunities and mitigating legal risks; leading contract negotiation with key customers and/or stakeholdersAdvising on new aspects of the law ensuring that the business is continuously compliant, taking into consideration new business models and digitalization (e.g. data sharing arrangements, e-commerce)Managing corporate law matters (e.g. board of directors meetings, appointment of directors, granting of powers of attorney, corporate law operations, commercial leases, delegations of authorities, inter-company agreements)Act as the single point of contact for all compliance & legal matters and, as needed, coordinate and assign actions to external counsels while ensuring quality and containing costsEnsuring the execution of local compliance initiatives: training, processes policies and standard operating procedures, communication, and monitoring of compliance mattersTimely handling of all compliance issues that represent a material compliance or reputation riskCoordinating and aligning with the Roche Legal and Compliance network to source and share best practices with regard to business challenges and opportunitiesLead and develop a high-performing team by setting clear objectives, prioritizing work, and optimizing operational tasks in support of the business teamsFoster collaboration, provide guidance and resources, conduct regular check-ins, implement development plans, and create a positive work environment that aligns with company goals, culture, and policiesAbilities and skillsAbility to provide accurate, high-quality, strategic yet practical and concise legal adviceBeing an advisor and thought partner that enables informed strategic choices within an acceptable legal risk profileStrong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to interact with senior stakeholdersAbility to challenge the status quo constructively and to proactively contribute to improvements in the business and in the legal departmentSelf-motivated, strategic thinker, good communicator, and, hands-on team player that thrives in a fast-paced environmentEffective people leadership through mentoring, coaching, and team developmentStrong analytical, and decision-making skillsStrong business acumen and pragmatic problem-solving skills in the context of legal, compliance, or regulatory requirementsContinuous learner and curious for new developmentsQualifications & RequirementsLaw degreeQualified lawyer in DenmarkA minimum of 8 years experience, obtained via a combination of private practice and in-house, preferably in the medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industriesA minimum of 5 years of leadership experience either directly, matrixed or otherwiseProven track record of handling complex legal and compliance issuesIn-depth knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance standards in DenmarkDeep understanding of the Nordics market and cultureHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standardsFluent in written and oral English and DanishWho we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
