As Project manager at Grodan, your focus will mainly be on initiating and managing projects focused on developing measurement tools, cultivation methodologies and growing media products. - Initiating and managing projects focused on the development of new growing media solutions, measurement tools, and cultivation methodologies for application in Grodan’s key markets ( high tech controlled environment agricultural systems);
- Support growth initiatives, including new markets and crops;
- Collaborating with knowledge and expertise institutes to develop relevant knowledge, strategic perspectives, and networks. Managing and securing internal and external contacts related to the functionality of A&D;
- Cooperating with Rockwool International Group Technology and other knowledge institutes in joint development projects;
- Identifying strategic development directions in alignment with GG strategy and business plans;
- Handling wool growing media or application-oriented quality customer complaints at the request of the Product Efficiency department;
- Serving as a subject matter expert for Grodan, providing expertise to both internal and external stakeholders.
Where will you work?You will work together in an enthusiastic team responsible for the development of Grodan’s growing media and lifecycle solutions. In this new role you will report to the Director A&D. You work out of the head office in Roermond and on location at partner and customer sites.Grodan supplies innovative and sustainable stone wool growing media solutions for the professional horticultural sector, based on Precision Growing principles. These solutions are, amongst others, applied to the cultivation of vegetables and flowers, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, egg plants, roses and gerberas.Sustainability plays a prominent role within GRODAN, from the manufacture of stone wool substrates to end-of-life solutions. GRODAN is founded in 1969 and active in more than seventy countries worldwide. The head office located in Roermond, the Netherlands.What do we ask?
- Master or PhD degree in plant science, soil science, or similar;
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project manager with experience in developing cultivation methodologies and products used in controlled environment agricultural systems;
- Experience with outsourcing and coordination of R&D activities
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both oral and written;
- Driven, analytical skills and results-oriented. Work independently as well as in a team and manage stakeholders at all levels within our organization.
- Willingness to travel within the Netherlands approximately 30% of the time, outside Europe 10%, otherwise you work from home and at our head office in Roermond
