Field based role with a requirement to be in the Gatwick office 2 days a month as a minimum

Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Senior National Account Manager – Foodservice where you will have full accountability of the Customer Portfolio for Nestlé Waters (NWUK) within Foodservice and lead a team of 2 National Account Managers. You will develop the Foodservice strategy to accelerate and deliver profitable sustainable growth and drive pence per litre improvement through insight and selling the 4Cs way, delivering on sales fundamentals of P&L management, forecast accuracy, pricing and deductions.

This is a high-profile role within the Nestlé Waters Sales Team, working with strategically important accounts – the role is about delighting our customers and delivering exceptional results.

A day in the life of a Senior National Account Manager …

It’s an exciting time to join the team as a Senior National Account Manager where you’ll be responsible for managing the relationship between NWUK and Foodservice Customers and also the effective management of Nestlé Waters brand portfolio within Foodservice with full P&L accountability.

You will also be expected to keep abreast of competitor activity and market intelligence and support with the development of the wider channel strategies to ensure we have the tools we need to win in these areas now and in the future.

Key responsibilities of this role will also include:

  • Manage and develop customer portfolio through 4C’s selling, successful negotiation and effective implementation of agreements and joint business plans including online

  • Construct, maintain and track robust defendable trading terms and joint business plans

  • Building and securing Internal approval of annual plans for the customers

  • Monthly monitoring of agreed annual target for NNS, Volume (Litres), Mix (International vs Local) and Total Trade Spend

  • Effective utilisation of data (EPOS where available, Market Data, Trends) working with CSD to build compelling and effective 4C’s selling stories

  • Effective Trade Spend management and monthly book close process

  • Involvement in Pre and Post evaluation process to ensure effective use of trade spend where relevant

  • Volume and Value forecast accuracy to support DF Process

  • Ensure day-to-day account issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently and with customer focus

  • Zero Price queries and deductions and promo forms where relevant sent on time and correct first time.

  • Active involvement in the Trading Call, Grocery MOR and Commercial Review

  • Building effective relationships (new and existing) through appropriate contact strategy across customer base

  • Working with NIM key stakeholders to leverage expertise and RTM.

  • Providing effective channel intelligence to shape the ICP, OMP and the Monthly Business (MBS)

  • Provide clear visibility of potential Risk and Opportunities within customer portfolio managed through the R&O Tracker

What will make you successful?

To be successful, you’ll already have some fantastic sales experience under your belt. You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic, fast moving and dynamic environment. In addition, you will also have:

  • Proven FMCG Commercial experience in a sales role – ideally in the Foodservice channel

  • Experience of working cross functionally and building relationships across different departments

  • The ability to credibly communicate and influence using reliable data and facts

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to Think Customer and solutions driven approach

  • Clear understanding of Category dynamics

  • Excellent Category Management skills

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills

  • Numerate with good understanding of P&Ls
