About ENTSO-EENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.If you are interested in having an active role in the energy transition, you should consider joining ENTSO-E. If yes, ENTSO-E is the right place for you.You will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels in the Market & Operations section, reporting directly to the Market Deputy & Market Integration Manager. Our dynamic team is currently comprised of 5 skilled internal and external staff.In this role, you will play an important part for the planning and coordination of the implementation of market guidelines for European wide projects. You will work in close collaboration with TSO Experts, and interact with important stakeholders such as ACER, the European Commission etc.In addition, cooperation with Secretariat’s staff across all departments in the frame of the Secretariat’s program management structure and in ENTSO-E’s efficiency-oriented project framework is required.You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work to support a good work-life balance.Travels (e.g. 1-2 days per month) may be required.Your responsibilitiesThe Electricity Market Specialist will contribute to the Association work mainly in the implementation of the market guidelines. Responsibilities may be subject to change depending on the evolution of priorities and projects. Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • The implementation planning and coordination of the market guidelines (CACM, FCA EBGL), related project especially for Europe-wide and certain regional implementation of requirements in the market guidelines and of aspects in operations guideline or connection network codes.
  • With a proactive approach, lead, and support groups of TSO experts, , ensure the experts reach common position and develop the agreed methodology or implementation projects.
  • Coordination with the Capacity Calculation Regions (CCR) and the Regional Security Coordinators (RSC) for their data provision for monitoring purposes.
  • Interactions with European regulators and their agency ACER, with the European Commission, at times with Members of the European Parliament, and with other stakeholders, including providing information about market and transparency issues.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Market Committee meetings, in cooperation with the other staff of the market section, incl. preparing agendas, session files, presentations, decisions and draft minutes.
  • Support to the day-to-day business of the Market Section in relation to the functioning of the Market Committee and its working groups, project teams.

Your profileWe are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities:

  • Post-graduate degree in Information Technology, Economics, Electrical engineering or a related field
  • At least 1 to 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in the TSO business
  • Proven expertise in the energy sector preferably in European electricity market integration issues, e.g. market design, integration of financial and physical power markets, transparency, congestion management, balancing mechanisms, renewable energy integration.
  • Excellent skills and a strong interest in communication, for cooperating within the Secretariat, for supporting members in the Committees and facilitating consensus, and for explaining to Commission and regulators, stakeholders, politicians and the public the work products and positions of the TSOs.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
  • Results-oriented attitude, team-player with ability to prioritise.
