Job description

Offer DescriptionWithin the AstroParticle and Cosmology (APC) laboratory, the postdoctoral mission is to monitor and evaluate in real time the progress of deliverables for the development, harmonization and access to research infrastructure data as part of the Astrophysics Centre for Multimessenger Studies in Europe (ACME) European project ( ). He/she will bring his/her scientific expertise in the field of multi-messenger astrophysics and management of complex scientific projects, by overseeing the technical developments in each work package and scientifically and technically support the work package leaders in achieving their objectives and deliverables in a timely manner. He/She will conduct research for data process, analysis tools and production of scientific outputs (lightcurves, spectra, source catalogs, etc.) related to the SVOM satellite ECLAIRs instrument (hard X-ray coded-mask telescope), and integrate the results in the framework of ACME.– Coordinate the technical developments in the ACME work packages (website platform, data analysis tools, data formats, data archives, real time alert systems, observations coordination tools)
– Provide scientific and technical expertise for the work package leaders in the domain of data formats and analysis tools, real time alert systems and brokers for multi-messenger astrophysics to achieve their objectives
– Monitor the activities, perform quality checks and ensure that all deliverables are released in time
– Assess the project technical risks and provide mitigation measures to avoid delays
– Contribute to the scientific and technical reports and documentation
– Contribute to the data analysis tools development and data analysis for SVOM/ECLAIRs
-Produce scientific output for SVOM/ECLAIRs X-ray and gamma-ray datasets and perform cross-analyses in a multi-messenger contextThe Astrophysics Centre for Multimessenger Studies in Europe, a EU-funded project coordinated by Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), aims to realize an ambitious coordinated European-wide optimization of the accessibility and cohesion between multiple leading astroparticle and astronomy research infrastructures, offering access to instruments, data and expertise, focused on the new science of multi-messenger astrophysics. SVOM (Space Variable Object Monitor) is a French-Chinese mission dedicated to the detection and study of gamma-ray bursts, and in a larger extent to the transient sky. The postdoctorate fellow will work closely within the APC with the ACME project team, the APC High-energy Astrophysics group and SVOM team members, as well as the laboratory IT team.
