Are you an innovative scientist looking for a new role where you can directly impact clinical development programs through drug and disease mechanistic understanding? Are you looking to join an exciting new department changing the way drugs are developed at Novo Nordisk?
Then this opportunity could be right for you. Join us in Global Translation and help change how we conduct research and development in Novo Nordisk.

The position
As Translational Medicine Lead you will be leading the Translational Biomarker Team and represent Global Translation in global project teams. You will work in partnership with the Translational Biomarker Team in the identification and qualification of biomarkers and development of clinically deployable assays and you will become the scientific and strategic driver responsible for implementing high-quality actionable biomarker plans in clinical trials. A key element is bridging the molecular mechanistic understanding at the target level with human disease knowledge whilst maintaining a focus on operational feasibility.
As a senior member of the team, you will also play a key supporting role in the development of a growing department and the implementation of translational medicine as a discipline to increase innovation at Novo Nordisk.

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this position, we would expect you to have:

-A PhD and/or MD with 5+ years of experience in biotech or a pharma company.
-Several years of translational experience bridging preclinical and clinical.
-Track record in the strategic development and implementation of pharmacodynamic biomarkers during the drug development process.
-We see it as an advantage if you have a scientific background in metabolic and/or cardiovascular disease.

We are looking for a person with a pioneering attitude to increase innovation in clinical development and develop differentiated products to meet the unmet medical need of future patients. You are a dynamic self-starter capable of proactively leading biomarker sub-teams and have excellent communication skills across all organisational levels, functions, and cultures, allowing you to be an inspiring and strong collaborator.

About the department
Translational Medicine is located within Global Translation, Research and Early Development at Novo Nordisk.
As part of the corporate global R&D strategy, Translational Medicine has a focus on the development and deployment of pharmacodynamic biomarkers in Phase 1 trials together with prospective stop/go criteria to facilitate data-driven decision-making. We work in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure translational medicine biomarkers are integral from the earliest research experiments through to early clinical studies. Our commitment is to build a presence and differentiated pipeline with an increased probability of success and to the benefit of patients.
In Global Translation, we cover a significant part of the Novo Nordisk value chain. We follow the projects from early research to end-of-Phase 1 clinical development. This demands broad expertise and interdisciplinary collaboration, and we take pride in teamwork and seamless knowledge sharing.
