Job description

Job Description:Do you seek to use your competences to develop innovative gene editing technologies and advance the field of cellular therapies? Is leveraging state-of-the-art single-cell multi-modal measurements, high-throughput data analysis, and advanced cellular engineering all part of your repertoire? Then you might be the candidate we are looking for.The Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Bioengineering) at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a position as Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Gene Editing Technologies and Cellular Therapies. The position will be placed in Section for Medical Biotechnology that has around 100 staff members. We are looking for an Assistant Professor with deep knowledge within the area of gene therapy and iPSC research with a specific focus on CRISPR technologies, AAV vectors, and the development of novel therapeutic approaches. You will contribute to improving our understanding of how to differentiate cells into defined phenotypes, and advance the development of new technologies for genome editing. You will strengthen the department’s position in state-of-the-art gene therapy, iPSC research, and cellular therapies, and assist in bridging the gap between basic understanding of cellular signalling and differentiation trajectories and the design of targeted cellular therapies.Responsibilities and qualifications
This position gives you the opportunity to lead frontier research as principal investigator in the Section for Medical Biotechnology headed by Prof. Susanne Brix Pedersen. It is desirable that you have experience in developing gene therapies using advanced bioinformatics and data science, as well as in advanced wet lab-based techniques to study factors of importance for cellular differentiation of e.g. iPSCs, and therapeutic interventions.Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Lead a group of scientists conducting frontier research in the area of cellular therapies, using and developing advanced gene editing technologies,
  • Design, develop, and teach BSc-, MSc-, and PhD-level courses,
