We are open to discussing 0.8 and 1 FTE for this opportunityAbout the departmentThe Library Services team play a vital role in supporting teaching, learning, and research endeavours by ensuring access to collections of books, journals, and electronic resources that cater to the information needs of students and academic departments.The Library Services Manager will lead and innovate in the delivery of library services, with consideration of how digital solutions can modernise and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service. This role is strategically significant in shaping the future of the library, ensuring its integration at every stage of the student journey. By providing expert leadership, the Library Services Manager will play a vital role in supporting student success and fostering research excellence across the University.About the roleWe are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Library Services Manager to lead our dedicated library team and drive the operational delivery of future-facing library services and study spaces across our campuses. This role is crucial in ensuring that our libraries provide a responsive, welcoming, and inclusive environment that supports student success and academic achievement.As the Library Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the library, managing staff workload and development, and ensuring that our services align with the University’s academic mission and strategic priorities. You will work closely with the Head of Libraries and Student Support, the Student Centre Services Manager, and other university colleagues to enhance our library services and promote their use throughout the student journey.In this role, you will also lead the development and implementation of collection policies, the Research Repository, and play a role in promoting academic and information literacy skills. Your ability to collaborate with senior academic staff and other stakeholders will be essential in ensuring that our library services meet the needs of our diverse student population and support the University’s learning, teaching, and research goals.This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and innovative professional to make a meaningful impact on the future of our library services.
