Your missions

The main mission is to lead the Core Physics department (FDP-E), within the European Platform of the Fuel BU engineering division (FD-E).

This mission requires a proven successful leadership and management skillset and the capability to operate efficiently in a multi-cultural and high-technical-level environment.

The Core Physics Department (FDP-E) is in charge of the following activites, in the field of neutronics and thermal-hydraulics engineering disciplines:

  • Neutronics and Thermal-hydraulics design for the fuel assemblies and core components
  • Reload safety studies and in-core fuel management studies 
  • Development and maintenance of core physics computer codes, calculation methods, mathematical models and data bases
  • Analysis of in-reactor experience feedback to validate core physics codes
  • Follow-up of manufacturing parameters influencing the neutronics behaviour, especially for MOX and ERU fuel
  • Criticality safety studies for Fuel Manufacturing plants located in France
  • Development and validation of Critical Heat Flux correlations
  • Specific studies and models using CFD and advanced neutronics reference codes

FDP-E department is composed of ~50 engineers and is organized in 3 Groups (= teams)

FDP-E Department Manager leads the department focusing on the following Key Performance Areas

  • Nuclear and Occupational Safety Culture
  • Operational Excellence in Quality, Planning and Continuous Improvement (Flow & Waste)
  • Optimized usage of resources and competences to deliver on-time-in-full on all projects
  • Center of Excellence in all disciplines related to fuel neutronics and thermal-hydraulics
  • Engagement and happiness of the department staff

FDP-E Department Manager reports to the FD-E Platform Senior Manager

You are

Holder of a Bac+5 (Engineering school, Master or PhD) in the fields of engineering and preferably nuclear physics, you have at least ten to fifteen years of professional experience acquired in a wide technological field and complex environment involving engineering activities. You have a first successful experience of minimum 5 years as manager of an engineering team. You have a good knowledge and understanding of core physics topics.

You are recognized for your leadership skills, your ability to motivate and develop the skills of your team members. You understand the problems of customers, and how to address them within an engineering department.

You are recognized for your interpersonal skills in an international environment.
