Role: UK Head of Project Management (PMO)

Location: Remote

How will you make a difference?

As The Head of Project Management (PMO) you will oversee the Project Management function in the UK, ensuring Project Management Governance Tools, Processes, procedures, and professional development of the Project Managers through alignment with the wider Wabtec Corporate governance.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Continuous improvement and development of the project management function to build a high performing and flexible team, across OE and Services, to adapt to the challenges and opportunities of the region across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

  • Build lasting working relationships with Product Lines, Sites, and Functional Directors to execute the overall business objectives.

  • Ensure a smooth transition between tender and project phases.

  • Deployment of standard project methodologies and corporate governance within the Region, including project/contract management, metrics, and tools.

  • Conduct deep dives to review and audit UK Projects as per contractual obligations and stakeholder commitments.

  • Responsible for escalation points for UK Projects with internal and external stakeholders on critical project execution topics.

  • Accountable for the consolidation of project gate reviews and Project reporting of KPI/KPRs at UK and Group level in line with customer milestones.

  • Active in the bid preparation and approval/handover process, to ensure adherence to corporate policies.

  • Support Project Managers, through leadership and mentoring including Talent and Development strategies covering, Competencies and core Skills, Training, and Career Development.

  • Collaborate with Functional and Product Line Directors for any resources or issue support required.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Experienced with technical projects and services within rail, construction, and or energy infrastructure sectors is desirable.

  • Hold an industry recognised Project Management qualification or degree in Project Management, Business Management, and or Engineering

  • Solid understanding of contract management in engineering to production business, manufacturing processes, and Supply Chain Management.

  • Strong understanding of cost control and finance (WIP, risk analysis, opportunity).

  • Commercial ability and understanding of the business environment of customers.

  • Strong communication abilities, including management by influence.

  • Team building and management, remote and dispersed management in a matrix environment.
