Biodiversity and GIS Data Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Biodiversity and
GIS Data Officer
with the skills to manage and enhance our dataholding and to carry
out spatial analysis to make the data we hold go further. This is a full-time permanent role
(part-time working would be considered) giving the opportunity to work in a well-established
and forward thinking Local Environmental Records Centre as part of a network of four Welsh
record centres.

We are a small, friendly and supportive team dedicated to providing robust evidence to inform
conservation action and decision making throughout mid-Wales.

We are at the heart of the recording community in Powys and the Bannau Brycheiniog National
Park. We work closely with volunteers, species experts, conservation NGO’s, Local Authorities,
utility companies, researchers, ecological consultants and the other Welsh LERCs. So, as well
as having great data management skills you will need to be a good communicator who is happy to
present technical information to a range of audiences.

We support hybrid working; this role has an expectation of working two days a week from our
Brecon office.

Salary – £25,000 – £28,000 (pro-rata if part time) depending on experience

Closing date – 5pm on Thursday 17th October 2024. All applications must be
made using the Application Form provided.

Interview date – Friday October 25th 2024
