The position

You are an exceptional leader who excels in fostering an engaging and inclusive environment while providing leadership and direction in IT Security and Infrastructure at the Athlone site.

This role covers the Athlone site in Ireland, within the Emerging Technologies division of Novo Nordisk, and is ideally suited for candidates residing in the Midlands region of Ireland.

Key responsibilities include:

-Ensuring the Athlone site complies with current IT security regulations, aligned with Novo Nordisk’s IT Security, Infrastructure, and Application Target Architectures.
-Overseeing the availability of a Single Point of Contact each day to monitor incoming IT security and infrastructure incidents, coordinating response efforts at the location. In the event of a security incident, you will promptly notify the ET IT Security group, PS IT security, and the system owner, following the IT Security incident response plan.
-Supporting GITO in managing Data Centre Operations at the Athlone site, including responsibility for the life cycle management of IT equipment and related infrastructure assets.
-Reviewing and approving local infrastructure and security requests while collaborating with local teams to minimize downtime.
-Acting as a liaison between your CVP area (Manufacturing Operations and OP Development) and the Emerging Technologies IT Security Group, Global IT Security, and Global IT Operations Groups.
 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will need to meet the following requirements: 

-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
-7+ years of experience in IT security and infrastructure roles.
-Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, security concepts, principles, and best practices.
-Expertise in network security, intrusion detection/prevention, and access control.
-Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, encryption).
-Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are highly desirable.

This is a site-based role where we would normally expect attendance on site. Candidates will be expected to travel and stay overnight away from home from time to time. 

About the department

The team includes IT Managers, Analysts, Supporters and Project Managers supporting both run the business and project delivery activities for site Athlone.
