We are looking for a highly skilled Staff iOS Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to developing world-class mobile applications.Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and visionary iOS Staff Engineer to lead and drive the architecture, design, and development of our iOS applications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile applications at scale, possess deep technical expertise, and demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship abilities. This role is critical to ensuring that our iOS applications are performant, reliable, and provide an exceptional user experience.The scope is across the engineering department across multiple teams and this role will report to the Director of Engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership:

  • Lead the design and architecture of complex iOS applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, specifications, and solutions that align with business goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our iOS applications.

Engineering Excellence:

  • Develop high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Improve our processes and tooling to enable us to deliver with confidence – test automation, CI / CD, observability, etc.

Delivery:

  • Lead and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, designing, developing, testing, and deploying iOS applications. This is a hands-on role.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of features and improvements.
  • Proactively manage technical debt and ensure the long-term sustainability of the codebase.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts, trade-offs, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications & SkillsEssential Skills

  • Previous experience leading iOS development, with a portfolio of successful iOS applications.
  • Deep understanding of Swift and Objective-C, as well as familiarity with related frameworks and tools.
  • Deep understanding and experience with different architecture patterns and ability to trade off pros and cons of each of them.
  • Experience with modern iOS tools, frameworks and working flows.
  • Track record of leading and mentoring teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Expertise in performance optimization, memory management, and debugging on iOS.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
  • Strong understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
