MIMOVE has longstanding expertise in mobile and service-oriented computing, semantic technologies, interoperability, system emergence and evolution, and edge/fog computing. MIMOVE works on these topics through many national and international collaborations with academia and industry, including large-scale software development of real-world systems. MIMOVE’s research results impact various application domains; MIMOVE focuses in particular on the application areas of IoT and smart cities.Inria MIMOVE is one of the 13 partners of the SEDIMARK project ( https://sedimark.eu/ ) of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme. The EU has a vision to become the world’s largest and most secure Data Hub where businesses will be able to exploit data for promoting research, education, and business. This requires significant investments in the development of (among others) intelligent tools for data interoperability, secure data sharing, and data discovery. SEDIMARK aims to provide an enriched secure decentralised data and services marketplace, where scattered data from various domains and geographical locations within the EU can be easily generated, cleaned, protected, discovered, enriched with metadata, AI and analytics and exploited for diverse business and research scenarios.Mission confiéeInria MIMOVE’s role in the SEDIMARK project is summarized as follows:

  • Bring in longstanding expertise in semantic technologies, in particular related to systems and the IoT;
  • Lead and contribute to the design of the SEDIMARK semantic models and related tools for enabling data interoperability across providers and domains.

Principales activitésIn the context identified above, the R&D Engineer will be the main contributor for Inria MIMOVE to the SEDIMARK project, with the following principal activities:

  • Lead the task that aims at designing and developing the SEDIMARK semantic models and related tools;
  • Contribute to other tasks, dealing with the interplay between semantic technologies and AI/ML based solutions for data management and data analytics;
  • Contribute to the overall platform integration and evaluation;
  • Contribute to the project dissemination and exploitation representing Inria as an academic partner.

In addition, the R&D Engineer is expected to support MIMOVE’s research in relation to the above identified and other related topics.CompétencesThe candidate should have a Master’s degree in Computer Science with expertise – including experience in the implementation of related software prototypes – in one and possibly several of the following topics:

  • Distributed systems,
  • Middleware architectures and protocols,
  • Internet of Things,
  • Semantic technologies,
  • Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
