Make your mark for patientsTo strengthen our External & Clinical Supply Quality department we are looking for a Engineering Quality Lead – Braine l’Alleud, BelgiumAbout the roleThe Engineering Quality Lead is a pivotal role within the External & Clinical Supply Quality Leadership team, ensuring quality oversight for the Global Engineering and Facilities organization. The position is a critical role responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of the engineering processes within our organization. This position works closely with cross-functional teams, collaborates on process improvement initiatives, and contributes to the overall compliance and sustainability of our operations.Key responsibilities include providing leadership and quality expertise in driving strategic and operational Quality Assurance activities associated with the UCB Engineering global team that is responsible for overseeing engineering projects, integrating new technologies for automation and digitalization, emphasizing safety, sustainability, and enhancing the workplace experience for employees.You will work withThis role requires close collaboration with the Global Engineering, Global Quality, Internal & External Manufacturing, CMC Development Sciences, and other relevant functions. It involves providing quality support and guidance to UCB’s global project engineering PMOs and facility and engineering professionals across all UCB facilities, including affiliates, offices, manufacturing plants, and laboratories.What you will doQuality Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with GXP regulations and internal quality practices
  • Implement quality oversight measures to maintain high standards in engineering processes
  • Monitor adherence to engineering processes/standards and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with the operational Quality functions to ensure the global Engineering standards/processes are followed
  • Provide expert Quality advice and support on Engineering Quality topics

Process Improvement/Sustainability

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and execute process improvement projects
  • Analyse existing processes, identify bottlenecks, and propose enhancements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance, optimize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate on Sustainability projects driven by Global Engineering & facilities

Engineering Strategy

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the engineering strategy & roadmap
  • Identify and assess regulatory and quality risks related to engineering activities and collaborate on the associated mitigation plans
  • Ensure alignment with the quality objectives
  • Co-drive the change management linked to the Engineering strategy & roadmap

General

  • Work in accordance with UCB HSE and Corporate policy requirements
  • Drive your personal training and development activities to meet the needs of the business and professional career development
  • Upon request deputize for the Head of External Supply & Clinical Supply Quality and the leadership team in times of absenteeism (e.g., vacation, illness)
  • Promote Best Practices throughout the team
  • Exemplify the core values of the team ‘Care, Empowerment & Positivity’

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills

  • Requires a scientific master’s degree or equivalent
  • Expertise in various aspects of the global pharmaceutical industry, including interpreting and applying relevant regulations, with a solid understanding of both business and technical perspectives.
  • Capable of working independently in most situations, handling complex and challenging scenarios, and making decisions that impact multiple departments
  • Interacts with and influences senior internal and external stakeholders on project and product-related matters
  • Manages projects and activities across global regions, leads and motivates teams, sets challenging objectives, and demonstrates professional maturity in difficult situations
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills at all levels, especially with senior management
  • Generates team commitment, encourages new ideas, acts as a role model, dynamic and unafraid to take on new, significant challenges
  • Capable of coaching, training, and mentoring colleagues, delivering training within their area of expertise.
  • Skilled in operating across cultures and in a multicultural environment
  • Independently analyzes data, identifies risks, proposes corrective actions, and demonstrates initiative in solving problems creatively and practically
  • Possesses a pragmatic view and a clear vision for the company’s future direction
