This is a remarkable opportunity for a forward-thinking individual to take on the role of Head of MathsHere’s what you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction, aligning the Maths department with the school’s vision for academic excellence.
  • Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of a comprehensive and engaging Maths curriculum across all year groups
  • Lead a team of talented Maths teachers, offering ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for exploring Mathematics.
  • Make significant contributions to curriculum development, ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices.
  • Play a key role in recruiting, selecting, and managing Maths teachers.
  • Actively participate in the wider school community, collaborating with colleagues across different departments.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS with a strong specialism in Mathematics (Leadership experience preferred).
  • Has at least 5 years’ successful experience in a secondary or independent school setting, with demonstrably strong leadership qualities.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of raising standards in Maths.
  • Offers a strong strategic vision and the ability to translate it into a successful departmental plan.
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, motivating and inspiring a team.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
