Offer DescriptionThe purpose of this postdoctoral position is to support the research that EARS (Research Team on Ethics Applied to Social Reality) is currently developing in the field of Ethics and Technology, in particular regarding the ethical impacts of artificial intelligence in construction of democratic communities.The goals of this research are a) to analyze the diverse hazards that the digitalization of social, economic, political and administrative processes poses to liberal democracies, and b) to build an ethically informed governance model for the development and implementation of artificial intelligence, at the service of democratic social, political and citizen relationships.El propósito de esta posición postdoctoral es apoyar la investigación que EARS (Equipo de Investigación en Ética Aplicada a la Realidad Social) está desarrollando actualmente en el campo de la Ética y la Tecnología, en particular en lo que respecta a los impactos éticos de la inteligencia artificial en la construcción de comunidades democráticas.Los objetivos de esta investigación son a) analizar los diversos riesgos que la digitalización de los procesos sociales, económicos, políticos y administrativos le plantea a las democracias liberales, y b) construir un modelo de gobernanza éticamente informado para el desarrollo y la implementación de la inteligencia artificial al servicio de las relaciones sociales, políticas y ciudadanas democráticas.Research TopicEthics in Artificial Intelligence.Objectives of the positionActive participation in one of the projects that we currently have underway (for example, the Transitas project funded by the Provincial Council of Guipuzkoa or the Ethics-AI project recently submitted to a Horizon Europe Call).
Contribution to the formulation of a new competitive research project on democracy, social networks and technology.
Formulation and development of other projects of interest of the candidate, involving other members of our team.
Joint publication of scientific articles in journals of high academic quality. Some co-authoring with other team members is required.

PhD degree. Applicants who completed their PhD from 2019 onwards are welcome.? Familiarity with the topic of artificial intelligence.? Interdisciplinary training or experience in the fields of ethics, technology and/or social sciences. It is expected that the candidate has some trajectory related to the ethics of techno-scientific phenomena.? Training for the conduction of research in the social sciences.?
