Do you have experience in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs?We are expanding the EHS team and looking for an EHS Manager to join our collaborative team.If you demonstrated the ability to drive cultural change and foster a safety-first mindset within an organization, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.About the RoleThe Manager, EHS is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within the organization. This role ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and implements effective EHS practices. The EHS Manager will enforce policies and provide leadership to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.The role involves strategic collaboration with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into business operations and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.The EHS Manager works with the Sustainability & EHS Director on strategic Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives and is responsible for coordinating the day to day EHS work, including:
- Ensure that the EHS management systems comply with ISO 14001, ISO 50001 & ISO 45001.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance EHS management.
- Ensure compliance with EHS laws and regulations, environmental approval terms etc.
- Identify opportunities for improving EHS performance and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement EHS programs, including regular reviews to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Internal audits and inspections to identify EHS risks and non-compliance issues.
- Corrective action plans for audit findings and tracking of their implementation.
- External regulatory inspections and audits.
- Corrective and preventive actions based on investigation findings.
- EHS training programs for employees at all levels, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Records of EHS activities, including training, inspections, audits, and incidents.
- Effective processes for investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses including effective documentation and reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action process.
- Lead/champion investigations involving serious incidents and facilitate the use of safety analysis tools and methods.
- Site efforts to build a safe work culture, partnering closely with site leadership, management staff, and the EHS organization to reduce incidents and minimize operational risk.
- Provide oversight of the site emergency preparedness and planning process
- EHS risk assessments of new equipment, processes, and projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, reduce injury potential, and minimize environmental impacts.
- EHS guidance and support for project planning, operational changes, and new initiatives.
Your ProfileYou have…
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Extensive knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate employees.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with all departments to coordinate efforts and communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
- An ambitious, self-motivated, and organized personality.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in English (verbal, written).
