We see an increasing demand for Grodan products and solutions through the retail channels in more and more countries. This is a result of the increasing interest from hobby growers in growing vegetables and flowers hydroponically and the legalization of cultivating cannabis in clubs and for private use in more and more countries. Like in Germany earlier this year. Are you our new Account Manager who will map these retail channels and increase the position for Grodan there? Interested?   • Manage and deliver on the sales objectives defined within the New Crops team. Create and execute the Retail International sales plan; The geographical scope of the job will be worldwide minus North-America
  • Typical sales channels for these segments are wholesalers that resell to hydroponic stores or directly to bigger clubs. The hydro shops resell to the growers often online.
  • Understand and learn on the market needs (meaning the wholesalers but also the hydroshops, clubs and hobby growers)
  • Extend the existing portfolio of retail customers in the main countries, in line with the legal status
  • Make sales action plans for your area of responsibility and customer base, based on formulated strategic goals and market approaches
  • Build up and maintain good and effective relations with current and future customers with focus on our wholesalers and bigger hydroshops in selected countries
  • Sell the company’s products and services using technical, organizational, and customer/market knowledge and support wholesalers and hydroshops with promotion materials, basic instructions etc.
  • Registering all customer related activities in the CRM system
  • Keep market, company, and technical knowledge updated and give proactive feedback to the company regarding new developments, such as threats and opportunities
  • Actively contribute towards a variety of projects, trade shows, internal workshops and other team initiatives
  • Intensive cooperation with the AM medicinal crops, responsible for sales to professional licensed producers
  • Cooperate with product manager and local area marketing for effective marketing support to the wholesalers and shops

Where will you work?You will work together in a small and enthusiastic team responsible for sales, service and support to growers of new crops and applications in the Business Unit Northwest Europe. In this new role you will report to the Business Manager New Crops. You work partly from home, partly at the head office in Roermond and partly on location to visit customers and prospects in the selected countries.Grodan was at the basis of sustainable horticulture by making cultivation on stone wool possible. Since then, we have further developed this way of growing and today we are the market leader and enable our customers to grow in the most efficient and sustainable way. Grodan enables its customers to use valuable resources such as water, space and nutrients more efficiently. This allows them to optimize their cultivation and crops. In addition, we have an open software platform that integrates greenhouse data through our sensors and provides growers with better business insights.What do we ask?

  • Bachelor or Master level, preferably a “green” education;
  • At least 3 years of experience in an international sales or business development position preferably in the green sector;
  • Strong affinity with high-tech horticulture;
  • Strong in maintaining international contacts with distributors , wholesalers, shops. Strong in networking;
  • Enjoys a good balance between working according to plan and having a pioneering mindset;
  • Driven, analytical skills and results-oriented. Work independently as well as in a team;
  • Fluent in English is a must and an advanced level of the German language is a big plus;
  • Willingness to travel within Europe, approximately 30% of the time, outside Europe 15%, otherwise you work from home and are regularly at our head office in Roermond.
