Offer DescriptionCandidate for the position of an assistant (post-doc) at the Department of Molecular Neuropharmacology, Maj Institute of Pharmacology, Polish Academy of Sciences.Maj Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Sciences (further called Institute or IP PAS) announces a competition for the position of assistant (post-doc) at the Department of Molecular Neuropharmacology IP PAS to carry out tasks in the NCN Opus 20 project, “New therapies for opioid addiction”, no. 2020/39/B/NZ7/03537.We are looking for a person for the position of assistant (post-doc), interested in undertaking research at the Department of Molecular Neuropharmacology IP PAS.KEYWORDS: pharmacology, pharmacy, biology, molecular biology, neurobiology.RESPONSIBILITIES: * Planning and conducting experimental work;

  • Analysis of data and research results;
  • Processing data and preparing manuscripts for publication and presenting the obtained results during scientific conferences;
  • Preparation and archiving of research results;
  • Adherence to the code of ethics of Polish Academy of Sciences employee;
  • Compliance with the regulations and directives operating in the IP PAS;
  • Supervision of doctoral and master’s students.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Employment in the project based on a full-time employment contract for a period of 20 months with the possibility of extension. Remuneration in accordance with the NCN Opus 20 regulation (i.e. PLN 10,000.00 gross gross / month).Opportunities waiting for the candidate: * Cooperation with a team of experienced scientists with an international reputation;

Where to apply E-mail[email protected]RequirementsResearch Field Medical sciences » Other Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Other Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsA candidate for the position of assistant (post-doc) should meet the following conditions: * A doctoral degree in biological, pharmaceutical, psychological, medical or veterinary sciences, obtained outside the IP PAS no earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project. This period may be extended by the time spent on long-term (over 90 days) documented sickness benefits or rehabilitation benefits due to incapacity for work. Additionally, the number of months of leave related to the care and upbringing of children granted under the terms set out in the Labor Code may be added to this period, and in the case of women – 18 months for each born or adopted child, if this method of indicating breaks in an academic career is more favorable;

  • Interest in brain research and special motivation for scientific research confirmed by publications and references of the doctoral thesis supervisor;
  • Scientific achievements documented by publications in international journals;
  • Experience in implementing research projects and independent analysis and interpretation of results, preparation of manuscripts and public presentation and discussion of results;
  • During the period of receiving remuneration, the employed person cannot receive other remuneration from funds allocated as direct costs from research projects financed under NCN competitions;
  • During the period of receiving remuneration, an employed person cannot receive remuneration from any other employer under an employment contract, including an employer based outside the territory of Poland;
  • Active participation in scientific life, manifested in speeches/presentations at international conferences and symposia;
  • Ability to organize both own and team work, responsibility for assigned tasks;
  • Fluent use of English language;
  • Impeccable ethical attitude.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE WOULD BE: * Completed and certified training for those planning and performing procedures and experiments with the use of laboratory animals in accordance with the Act on the protection of animals used for scientific and educational purposes (as in Journal of Laws of 2023, item 465);

  • Proficiency in Polish language.
