We are looking for a talented Medical Advisor who can lead the scientific medical communication, development, and implementation of impactful projects with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field of Obesity disease and other stakeholders to ensure a good understanding of Novo Nordisk (NN) therapeutic concepts, products, and data, with a focus on leading to optimal access and usage of the products for the benefit of patients. The role is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and reports to the Clinical Medical & Regulatory Director.

The position

As a Medical Advisor for Obesity, you will be responsible for the identification and segmentation of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and develop engagement plans, including obtaining expert advice to guide local decisions and strategy. In addition, you will be responsible for drafting and adapting a global publication plan about the local needs and regulations and Liaise with relevant professional associations, including congress activities in support of Novo Nordisk’s presence.

Your main accountabilities will be:

-Seeking opportunities and giving advice to obtain an understanding of the market and patient pathways in support of internal medical and commercial business decisions and scientific development of therapy area and drive advanced scientific therapeutic area development. Drive launch preparation and execute launch in collaboration with cross-functional groups map healthcare system and patient care or treatment pathways and provide medical and scientific consultation/support for internal/external stakeholders and support local treatment guidelines.
-Ensuring timely, accurate, and balanced communication of data to the scientific and medical community and planning and executing abstracts, posters, and oral presentations at national conferences and manuscripts regarding responsible products in journals.
-Leading the process of KOL mapping, segmentation, and engagement planning and support and enable partnership with the right KOL, on the right activity, in support of Novo Nordisk’s therapeutic strategies to ultimately improve patient outcomes and design KOL engagement activities to enrich relationship with Key Opinion Leaders.
-Planning and implementing innovative ways to gather clinical insights, needs, or feedback from KOLs or customers and communicate with internal stakeholders and develop relationships with KOLs and proactively work with cross-functional groups to build product advocacy or advisory board forum discussion and engage with local associations and organizations.
-Increasing awareness of Novo Nordisk products or disease areas through presentations and training, according to business strategy, and planning and executing non-promotional scientific activities in accordance with the company program including but not limited to the medical education program, symposium, speaker training, and key scientific leader program.
 

Qualifications

As a Medical Advisor Obesity, you need to have more than 5 years of Medical Affairs related experience and a solid understanding of the role and activities of medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, you need to have a university degree in a Medical or Life Science Field (e.g. Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology/ Biochemistry)

To be successful in this role, you should have:

-Experience with relevant therapy areas will be an added advantage (e.g. endocrinology, cardiovascular, etc.)
-Demonstrated experience in KOLs, HCPs or medical community engage
-Excellent medical communication skills and understanding of different therapy areas and phases of the product lifecycle
-Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bulgarian and good oral and written communication skills in English
