  • You’ll assist in the development and periodic review of the bank’s risk appetite statements and tolerance levels.
  • You’ll monitor risk exposures against approved appetite limits and escalate breaches to senior management.
  • You’ll craft bank-wide risk policies that balance regulatory requirements with our business goals, ensuring we remain compliant while still seizing opportunities for growth and regularly review and update these policies to reflect changes in the regulatory landscape and our risk profile.
  • You’ll become our in-house expert on regulatory developments, translating dense legal text into strategies that keep us ahead of the curve.
  • You’ll collaborate with teams across the bank on major projects, from implementing new regulations to integrating systems.
  • You’ll create compelling visualizations that turn complex concepts into clear, actionable intelligence for decision-makers across the bank.

).What do you bring?You have a keen analytical mind, capable of dissecting intricate regulatory texts and translating them into clear, actionable policies. So key characteristics: a natural leader who takes ownership of projects and drives positive change within organisations, a masterful communicator, equally comfortable discussing complex regulations with experts and explaining risk concepts to non-technical colleagues. Besides this:

  • You have an academic degree in Finance, Economics or a related field and 3-5 years of experience in banking or consulting, giving you a solid foundation in financial concepts and risk management.
  • You’re well-versed in regulatory and industry best practices related to risk management, particularly those concerning risk appetite and reporting.
  • You’re fluent in English, our primary language of communication at NIBC.

In addition it would be nice if:

  • You have experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where adaptability is key.
  • You’ve been involved in major regulatory implementation projects or have experience with complex programs from a risk perspective.
  • You’ve been involved in integrating risk appetite considerations into strategic decision-making processes at a bank or financial institution.
  • You have experience with risk management reporting and data visualization tools.
  • You have a knack for process improvement and efficiency optimization.
  • You bring a good sense of humor and thrive under pressure – we work hard, but we like to enjoy ourselves too!
  • You’re passionate about technology and have ideas on how traditional banking can innovate within regulatory constraints.
