Turning Passion into Purpose.London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Research Excellence and Impact Manager within our Research, Enterprise, and Innovation department, to lead the development of a strategy for the future REF exercise.Working closely with the Head of Research Awards and Development, the Director of Research and Innovation, and the PVC Research and Innovation (R&I), you will prepare and submit regular reports on research excellence and impact to internal and external stakeholders, chair the future REF Operations Group in preparation for REF and to co-ordinate LSBU’s submission, and represent LSBU at relevant external policy related events in relation to the future research exercise processes and to advise senior management at LSBU on related issues.Line managing a small and highly skilled team to support the preparation of the future REF submission, you will work closely with University Research Centre Directors and Group leads, to drive research outputs and support institutional aspirations.You will be a confident communicator and will represent LSBU at external, national and international events and within networks to promote LSBU’s research.About You:We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent is essential (a PhD or postgraduate qualification will also be considered).
- Knowledge and experience of the research policy funding landscape in HE, particularly in relation to research and impact.
- A detailed level of knowledge of Research Excellence Framework regulations and requirements.
- Precise knowledge of Research Councils/ Research England guidelines in terms of research impact and an understanding of funder/ Research England definitions of impact.
- Experience of delivering complex programmes of work, requiring detailed planning and coordination of activities.
- Experience of working in an HE or research-intensive environment.
