In a world that’s ever-changing, we look to stay ahead and seek people who share our love of food and are hungry to shape the future.What your role isAs the Quality Engineer II for the Edgard & Cooper integration team, you will provide critical support throughout the integration to assure product safety, quality, and compliance to General Mills requirements. This Quality Engineer II role provides an opportunity to represent General Mills externally with ESC partners of Edgard & Cooper across multiple manufacturing locations, partner with the broader ITQ IMO team to align on prioritized integration actions, and work with cross functional internal and external teams. As a point of contact between GMI, Edgard & Cooper, and our external partners you will build professional relationships and leverage your network across various GMI functions.The right candidate for this role will leverage technical knowledge, risked-based critical thinking, networking, and communication skills to influence and drive GMI goals and priorities throughout the integration process.In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop the following:

Applicants must be able and willing to regularly travel to ESC locations, located primarily in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands, without significant advanced notice.Key Responsibilities

  • Support the integration of Edgard & Cooper according to FSRM Standard 1.3
  • Support the integration of a portfolio of ESC suppliers’ locations across different platforms into GMI FSRM Policies
  • Establish effective relationships with ESC suppliers to identify and eliminate food safety, quality, and regulatory risks
  • Drive and execute key GMI priorities with ESC suppliers, including end to end assessment of the supply chain, policy review
  • Lead risk assessments, root cause analysis activities, and drive to resolution to protect GMI brands
  • Support commercialization of new products, which is inclusive of new product turnover process to assure capability to manufacture products as designed
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and other functions and lead food safety with external warehouses to enable business growth of Edgard & Cooper

What you will bring to the teamRequired Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 4+ years related experience (Food Safety & Quality, Research & Development, and Operations)
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Able to easily travel to Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Belgium, and/or the Netherlands
  • Ability to take early morning or late-night calls local time with US (and flex schedule accordingly)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and risked-based critical thinking
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Processes in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with autonomy
  • Possess quality engineering or six sigma skills

  • Food Safety Standards Auditing & Risk assessment capabilities
  • Ability to effectively influence external and internal partners
  • Strong understanding of GMI FSQ policies and regulatory requirements
  • Learning, growth mindset and interest to lead change
