As a Scientist, you will be part of a team that builds automation machinery for the research laboratories of the future. We apply AI, machine vision, voice control, and advanced robotics to build automation solutions for our colleagues in the rest of Novo Nordisk Research and Early Development. You will be the developer and test driver of these novel solutions.Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with lab automation specialists within our department to automate processes from R&ED collaborators in Novo Nordisk.
  • Modernize existing protocols with the latest methods and techniques.
  • Perform and optimize molecular biology, cloning, cell culture, biological assays or biophysics experiments by carrying out experiments – this is not a desk job.
  • Run experiments to generate high-quality data sets.

This is a 1-year maternity cover position.Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • MSc or a PhD degree in a scientific discipline such as Biology, Biochemistry or similar with experience in wet lab work.
  • Prior experience in laboratory work in pharma-related fields is necessary. You enjoy working actively in the labs and are passionate about delivering high-quality data from laboratory processes.

  • A creative and innovative mindset with a track record of building solutions and fast proof of concepts to solve problems.
  • A high throughput, fast-paced attitude – driven to get the job done.
  • Willingness to learn about automated experimentation (prior experience is not required).

About the department
You’ll be joining our Digital Science & Innovation team, which supports the digital journey across all our therapy areas in Research & Early Development (R&ED). We work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with all areas across R&ED to leverage scientific knowledge, partner with our IT organization to ensure access to the most advanced technology platforms and tools and engage in drug development projects across the value chain.
