The Design Project Manager is the advisor for all printed packaging related challenges. By managing multiple stakeholders (internal and external) a consistent, end to end design approach for the design and artwork process is maintained, via standardized ways of working and centralized IT tools.The role leads toward the creation of accurate content and appropriately produced printing artwork files against all timelines and budgets and automation of the process across multiple markets in Developed & Emerging markets. Demonstrating expertise of products, categories, and print requirements to drive speed to market, reduce redundancy, and minimize inaccuracy in agency governance and lifecycle management, the Design Project Manager will service business needs via deep understanding of the printed packaging (online/offline/eCom) environment and emerging tools and technologies. The role sits within the Marketing Excellence team and works in close collaboration with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Compliance, IT, Legal and Procurement.Key Ingredients:

  • Supporting implementation of end to end design packaging strategy, incl. setting up and rolling out of global workflow, ways of working, standards across Developed & Emerging markets
  • Collaborating with internal and external customers, along with Packaging Design agencies, premedia and print vendors to provide information to complete brand design packaging projects
  • Developing KHC design packaging ecosystem with ATLAS (ESKO) and DAM (Digital Asset Management) tools an integral part of it, and defining objectives, resources, timelines, scope, and zone-wide collaboration criteria
  • Onboarding KHC and local agencies and driving their integration with ATLAS and DAM tools
  • Managing design packaging related discussions and projects together with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Compliance, IT Legal and Procurement
  • Optimizing processes and simplifying administrative tasks across design packaging ecosystem
  • Setting up systems and processes so that KHC design packaging ecosystem functions per market as well as at global scale, with multi-local agencies being aware of how KHC design packaging ecosystem operates
  • Creating and implementing deadlines, project goals, expectations, workflows, reporting framework to ensure a smooth packaging design ecosystem and integration of processes across multi-country footprint of KHC
  • Assessing, interrogating existing ways of working for end-to-end packaging design lifecycle, clarifying local market needs and proposing the appropriate solutions for streamlined operations
  • Support local market artwork specialist in review and approval of artwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate, industry, print (offset/flexo), government regulations and retailer guidelines
  • Execute packaging graphic projects against established company procedures, objectives, timing, and financial commitments in specified systems and tools
  • Review and help process cost estimate and invoices related to artwork development projects and external providers
  • Identify and support areas of technical and process improvement, efficiency & effectiveness, and inter-team training

Recipe for Success: Apply if it sounds like you

  • Must be educated to a degree level at minimum (HBO / bachelor)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with the printed pack at repro agency
  • Good understanding of pre-press, print production, photo studio, and/or graphic design techniques and processes together with workflow practices and trends
  • Demonstrated project manager experience in a print, pre-press or graphics manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer skills working with ESKO (preferred), Propel, Jira, ProofHQ, Adobe Illustrator Suite
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong connector who is able to think constructively and who can act as a true owner
  • Solid project management experience, with understanding of how complex processes and systems may be used with agility
  • Having a good understanding of the dynamics of the design packaging industry, recent trends, automation tools
  • Experience of working with multi-market, multi-brand organizations is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal communication & presentation skills with good analytics and ability to influence
  • Team player and a self-starter, curious to learn and implement new, transformative ways of working, driving strategic alignment across organization
  • Language Knowledge – English. Other languages a plus
