Summary
We’re seeking a Senior Volunteering & Community Officer to join our team at National Trust Fermanagh, covering Castle Coole, Crom Estate, and Florence Court. If you have experience in managing volunteers and engaging with the community, we’d love to hear from you. This position also includes duty manager responsibilities across the three sites.
This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
What it’s like to work here
Florence Court is located 8 miles from Enniskillen and close to the border with the Republic of Ireland. Florence Court is the Trust’s most westerly property. The beautiful demesne is set against Benaughlin and Cuilcagh mountains. Crom’s 2,000 acre estate consists of tranquil islands and ancient woodlands and is haven to a wealth of wildlife including fallow deer, otters and herons.
What you’ll be doing
You will be managing the development and delivery of this portfolio’s strategic plan for volunteering and communities alongside the property leadership team. Managing and embedding change whilst widening and deepening our relationships with existing and new audiences.
You will also increase the confidence and capability of others whilst creating a collective, flexible and inclusive environment for existing & future volunteers, communities and partners.
Who we’re looking for
- Understanding and good practice of volunteer management.
- Understanding of good practice in community engagement and involvement, as well as broader participation and partnership working.
- Practical and successful experience of developing and implementing new products and approaches to volunteers.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to coach and support those managing, supervising and working alongside volunteers and community partners.
- Strong communication skills.
