Position Overview:
As a Climate Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in developing new Data analytics and Data Science techniques to consolidate, analyze and interpret carbone-related data to inform decision-making processes and sustainability strategies.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to calculate our carbon footprint, identify decarbonation opportunities to align with our sustainability goals.
This role requires a strong background in data analysis and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:

Collect, clean, and analyze data relevant to our own operations in order to calculate our carbon footprint with a specific focus on supply chain impacts (our scope 3).

Identify, access, and integrate diverse datasets from multiple sources (Design, procurement, supply, manufacturing complemented by external data sources).

Develop automated data collection processes and pipelines to ensure timely and accurate acquisition of data, utilizing APIs and database connections (and exploring new techniques, NLP, web scraping techniques, …).

Implement data governance practices and quality assurance measures to maintain data integrity, consistency, and reliability across various data sources.

Establish a centralized data repository to serve as the single source of truth for carbone data within the organization.

Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to design and optimize data architectures, storage solutions, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for efficient data management and access.

Develop and maintain data visualization (dashboards, reports, and performance metrics) to track key climate indicators and evaluate progress towards corporate sustainability goals.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sustainability teams, design, procurement, and operations, to integrate climate data into decision-making processes and risk management frameworks.

Conduct scenario analysis and predictive modelling to assess the potential decarbonation opportunities and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings, and revenue generation through climate-related initiatives.

Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on data access, data visualization tools, and best practices for utilizing the centralized data repository effectively.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Data science, data management, data engineering with a Passion for sustainability.

Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.

Strong proficiency in data integration tools and techniques, including API development, web scraping, SQL, and database management systems.

Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data modeling concepts, and master data management principles.

Excellent quantitative skills and ability to analyze complex datasets, perform statistical analysis, and develop data-driven insights.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot data issues and implement effective solutions.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in the field of climate science, environmental data management, or sustainability is a plus.
