The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Support Technician. This position will be funded by the project PDC2022-133451-I00, financed by the Spanish Ministry MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by the European Union “NextGeneration EU”/PRTR.ICIQ is one of the world’s internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis, Renewable Energy and Health. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).ICIQ is looking for a Support Technician to work in the group of Prof. Julio Lloret.We are seeking a research scientist to join our research team focusing on the development of catalysts using earth-abundant elements for CO2 reduction reactions (CO2RR). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing membrane electrode assemblies optimized for CO2RR and assisting in the design of electrochemical cells. Collaboration with fellow scientists to analyze results, write detailed reports, and maintain laboratory equipment is essential. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for writing scientific articles and research proposals, requiring excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. The role also involves documenting research findings comprehensively, participating in group meetings, and contributing to special projects.Requirements

• Masters degree in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
• A strong background in electrocatalytic reactions and catalysts.
• Knowledge of electrochemical methods for electrocatalyst characterization is welcome (RDE, half-cell, cyclic voltammetry, etc.)
• Knowledge on photocatalysis
• Good knowledge of scientific English
• Knowledge on common laboratory techniques and analytic tools.
• Experience on photoelectrochemistry will be a plus.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong motivation for the project and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to drive the project forward.

• A full-time employment contract linked to the PDC2022-133451-I00 project.
• Remuneration according to the Institute salary scales.
• Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.
