Offer DescriptionThe competition may be entered by individuals who meet the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742) and in the UMCS Statute of May 29, 2019, as amended.I. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF THE COMPETITION:

  • having a doctoral degree in chemical sciences or related sciences, agricultural science, biological sciences or earth science obtained in an institution other than the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project (this period may be extended by the duration of stay in this period for long-term (over 90 days)) documented sickness benefits or rehabilitation benefits in connection with incapacity for work; in addition to this period, you can add the number of months on leaves related to the care and upbringing of children granted on the terms specified in the Labor Code, and in the case of women – 18 months for each born or adopted a child, if this way of indicating breaks in a scientific career is more favorable);
  • having outstanding scientific achievements and experience in acquiring and managing or implementing research projects;
  • documented scientific achievements in the field of analytical chemistry, environmental engineering, ecotoxicology, confirmed by publications in international journals and with a high (

  • additional skills in functionalization of carbon adsorbents and conducting experiments including ecotoxicological analysis;

  • motivation to conduct scientific research and the ability to work in a team.

II. APPLICATION FOR THE COMPETITION SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • a copy of a doctoral degree or a resolution on awarding a doctoral degree or another document confirming obtaining the academic degree of doctor;
  • a personal questionnaire and resume or CV;
  • a list of scientific publications;
  • a list of scientific, teaching and organizational achievements;
  • a candidate’s declaration that UMCS will be their primary workplace;
  • opinion of a person holding the academic title of professor or the academic degree of habilitated doctor on scientific achievements in the field of chemical sciences, agricultural science, biological sciences or earth science;
  • a declaration of compliance with the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742);
  • a candidate’s declaration that they agree to the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

III. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • full-time employment based on an employment contract for a definite period from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2026, in a primary workplace under a research grant;
  • during the period of remuneration under the established employment, you cannot receive any other remuneration on the basis of an employment contract with any employer (also applies to an employer based outside the territory of the Republic of Poland);
  • during the period of employment at UMCS as part of a research project, you cannot receive any other remuneration from the funds allocated as direct costs from research projects financed under the competitions of the National Science Center.
