Details of the role and how it fits into the team

You will join the Corporate Bank International Lending team based in Paris, reporting into the EMEA Head of Lending for CB. Your goal is to take part in the lending team’s objectives to provide tailored Lending Solutions to Large, Mid and Small Cap companies, in France as well as in the EMEA Franchise of DB. As a Structured Lending Analyst you will develop a good understanding of the Bank’s existing loan product offerings and provide financial modelling and analytical support when assessing Structured Finance, Leveraged Finance and Commercial Real Estate lending opportunities. You will build relationships with the Sales/Coverage, Origination and Trading desks and assist with the preparation of Internal Committee processes, product client pitches and production of internal reports, working under the guidance of senior lending structurers. You will support the Client Service Teams in resolving specific issues regarding loan solutions and help ensure accurate financial modelling, adequately structure and price loans taking into risk management and profitability considerations while focusing on continued growth of the Corporate Bank International Lending franchise of Deutsche Bank.

Your key responsibilities

Main role and responsibilities in Lending Solutions (including, but not limited to):

  • Design, promote and sell Lending Solutions to clients in the different segments as a support to senior structurers within the International Lending team.
  • Run pricing and structure simulations that fit both the Client’s and DB’s requirements while provide specialist advice to clients and internal Deutsche Bank coverage teams on the envisaged loan solution.
  • Lead the preparation and finalization of Transactional Capital Allocation Forum (“TCAF”) processes in view of business approvals required prior to executing transactions
  • Assist in increasing lending revenue accordingly by working in close coordination with relationship managers to provide best lending solution and assist in resolving any specific issues resulting thereof.
  • Assist in assessing the credit worthiness of our lending counterparties in line with senior management requirements.
  • Participate in structuring and executing lending transactions: modelling, financial analysis, determining and optimizing transaction structures with a clear understanding of the regulatory requirements and Deutsche Bank’s Lending profitability targets
  • Assist in negotiating internally (e.g. Risk, Legal, Distribution, etc …) in order to get all necessary approvals to proceed with the transaction.
  • Act as a first line of defence : you will be responsible for monitoring of clients (financial) behaviours and developments as part of our portfolio ongoing review
  • Assist in pushing new client acquisition in line with the EMEA Lending expansion strategy.
  • Support internal departments in the bank that require specific product knowledge.
  • Maintain up to date awareness of competitor activity, market trends and market knowledge economic/political factors that affect the market and identify specific make opportunities in conjunction with the Relationship Manager.
  • Ensure routine compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulatory and best practices.

Your skills and experience

  • Team spirit and problem solving orientated candidate

  • Follow policies in nonstandard situation
  • Academic degree in Finance
  • Experience within capital markets and/or Lending sector
  • Native in French and fluent in English is mandatory, as well as the ability to negotiate and manage complex situations
  • Proactive, independent and structured work in cross-functional, intercultural teams across hierarchies, regions and time zones
