Risk Analyst Run/ RepoClear First Line Risk, LCH – RepoClear SA.

Role Profile

This role will work within the First Line Risk of the RepoClear and CaLM business line within the Run stream. This varied role touches on risk management, quantitative model, daily margin call processes and default management, creating ad hoc deep dive analysis for risk management purposes, supporting definition and execution of margin model evolution, BAU run of the business as required, change delivery and regulatory tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management

  • Monitor the financial risk exposures; ensure that regular reports are produced to identify exceptional positions and escalate to the Head of RepoClear & CaLM Risk – SA in such situation
  • Involvement in the implementation of “best practices” risk management, with regular reviews of processes and procedures, and that risk management practices remain within policy
  • Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of data sources
  • Involve in policies and procedures implementation and review
  • Take part in the margin explanation process in contact with the CCP members
  • Ensure that daily operational tasks are completed within the scope of defined risk management policies
  • Ensure that permanent and operational controls are performed accurately and are reviewed regularly

Margin Model

  • Ensure that the Margin framework is correctly implemented
  • Propose risk parameters modifications to the Head of RepoClear & CaLM Risk – SA when monitoring indicators reach alert thresholds
  • Take part in the production of papers to be presented to Risk governance and other Committees to support risk framework evolution

Default Management

  • Produce, analyse and control the reports needed to manage the Default process
  • Involvement in the liquidation process from analysis of the defaulting member’s position, to liquidation execution.

Involvement in risk change projects, specifications and tests

  • Take part in the projects sponsored by or having an impact on the RepoClear & CaLM Risk team
  • Produce development requirements and take part in the testing of the deliveries

Experience required to successfully perform the role:

  • Knowledge of financial market and repo landscape, trade lifecycle, regulatory demands and market settlement infrastructure, preferably with a good understanding of the role of the clearing environment, regulatory pressures and the future direction of clearing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial services’ industry rules and regulations and an understanding of what best practice means in running operations and broader infrastructure teams
  • Proven record of ability to handle analytical computer science and mathematical problematics
  • Strong team ethic and proven ability to work collaboratively across team and department boundaries
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with ability to work effectively with all organisational levels
  • Experience of presenting to and interacting with senior audiences
  • Strong academic background with a minimum of 1 year professional experience
